Outsider Summit 2024 | Adventuring Across Moab with the Outsiders

The first weekend of October marked the much-anticipated kickoff of our annual Outsider Summit, a gathering that celebrates the spirit of adventure and the vibrant community of Outside Van owners. This yearly event isn’t just a meet-up—it’s a weekend packed with stunning vans, passionate explorers, and epic adventures, all in the heart of the great outdoors.

This year, we set up camp on 25 private acres just outside of Moab, Utah. Surrounded by the iconic red sand, towering rocky outcrops, and a picturesque natural arch, the location felt like a scene straight out of a desert dream. This year’s summit was unforgettable, breaking records and bringing together the Outside Van community.

This year’s summit was made possible through an exciting partnership with Warner Vans of Utah and Mike Reed of Voyager Outdoors Ltd. With their deep expertise in Adventure Vans, overlanding, and intimate knowledge of Moab’s expansive trail system, they helped us pull off the best Outsider Summit yet.

With over 20 vans rolling in, attendees were treated to hands-on workshops covering everything from off-road recovery and repair to van maintenance. But the real highlight? Taking their rigs off the beaten path and exploring some of the most breathtaking and remote landscapes North America has to offer. From winding desert trails to awe-inspiring vistas, it was a weekend of discovery, learning, and pure adventure.

Beyond the thrill of exploring Moab by van, our very own Lindsey V. took adventure to the next level by leading mountain biking expeditions on some of the most iconic trails in the world. With Camelbaks filled to the brim and Lindsey leading the charge, the Outsiders faced the desert heat, pushing through 90-degree temperatures to conquer legendary routes like Slick Rock and Dead Horse State Park. And after a hard-earned ride across the rugged terrain, there was no better way to cool off than a refreshing dip in a local swimming hole—a perfect oasis after a day of desert adventure.

Each morning of the summit began with a little bit of magic: the Outside Van crew hand-delivered Breakfast Boxes to every van, filled with all the essentials for crafting a mouthwatering meal right in the comfort of Outsider’s rigs. Whether they fired up the induction cooktop or lit the propane stove, fluffy pancakes, fresh parfaits, or savory omelets to kickstarted the day’s adventures.

But the real treat came when the sun dipped behind the red cliffs. Evenings were a feast for the senses, thanks to on-site catering from Destination Kitchen Moab. Under a canopy of stars, everyone gathered in the common area to indulge in exquisite dinners paired with vibrant conversations. As the night went on, the delicious flavors of Kramer Vineyards wine and Level Brewing craft beer flowed freely, making for unforgettable moments of connection and celebration. Our outsiders are a unique crew of adventurers, each with their own story, and boy do we love to hear the stories from the road!
