Van life is most rewarding when shared, but balancing passenger capacity with functional living space is a notorious challenge. While our Approach model mastered group travel on the 170″ wheelbase, we wanted to bring that same “four-sleeper” capability to the nimbler, performance-oriented 144″ Sprinter chassis.

The result is the Overnight: a compact adventure van featuring a revolutionary “second bedroom” via the Super Pacific Cloud Cap pop-top. Here’s how we integrated a 4-season loft without sacrificing the utility of a standard roof.

In a 144″ wheelbase, every inch is a premium. To accommodate a family of four, we had to go up. We partnered with Super Pacific to integrate a wedge-style pop-top that acts as a cozy, durable loft.

Unlike standard pop-tops, the Cloud Cap features:

• 4-Season Weatherproofing: Built to handle extreme temperatures and wind.

• Modular Gear Mounts: Allowing for exterior customization even on the tent walls.

• Seamless Integration: The fit and finish match our premium interior trims for a cohesive “factory” look.

Typically, a pop-top consumes the entire roof, forcing owners to choose between a sleeping area and essential gear like vent fans or solar panels. Our engineering team solved this by repositioning the pop-top entry.

By shifting the Cloud Cap toward the rear, we successfully integrated:

1. Forward Positioned Interior Access: By placing the access hatch towards the front of the van, access to the Pop-Top is unobstructed by beds, furniture, or gear.

2. A Fixed Roof Vent Fan: Most pop-tops require the tent to be deployed to use the fan. On Overnight, the fan is mounted directly to the van roof, providing ventilation even when the pop-top is closed.

3. Maximum Lighting: Integrated 50″ light bar installed on our house-made light bar bracket.

The loft on Overnight isn’t just a tent; it’s a tech-integrated sleeping suite. To ensure it felt like a true extension of the van, we added:

• Power Access: Dedicated USB and 12V charging ports.

• System Control: A dock for the secondary Garmin Touchscreen Control Tablet, allowing you to monitor van vitals from bed.

• Custom Access: A specialized collapsing ladder system that stows away to maintain an open floor plan during the day.

Overnight proves that you don’t need a massive rig to bring the whole family along. With its nimble handling and “two-bedroom” layout, it is the ultimate tool for off-grid exploration.
