Built in 2020, Thundercloud was custom-made for a family who loves to get out and adventure together. With seating and sleeping for 4, the whole crew can comfortably fit in this Sprinter 170. The fully stocked kitchen includes a sink, induction cooktop, a refrigerator/freezer combo, plenty of storage for utensils, cookware, and plates, as well as an overhead microwave perfect for heating up leftovers. The front panel of the upper bed hinges to make a backrest so that the lower bed can be used as a couch when relaxing in the van. The custom upholstered mattresses with Pendleton Sunbrella fabric add a homey, fun touch.
With a lithium ion power system that powers all of the kitchen components, as well as the aftermarket rooftop A/C, vents, lights, and outlets, camping off-grid is easy. An additional boost of 260W of solar on the roof ensures the batteries stay charged, as does the secondary alternator that directly charges the batteries while the engine’s idle or in motion. To keep the cabin warm, a Webasto heater has been installed, and an Espar Hydronic water heater provides hot water to the 25 gallon stainless steel water tank.
